MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) _ Brock Nutter passed for 390 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to rally Troy State to a 48-31 victory over Middle Tennessee State (1-4).

Trailing 24-10 in the second quarter, Nutter brought Troy State (4-0) back by hitting David Hill with a 24-yard scoring pass.

Troy State tied the game on a 4-yard run by LeBarron Black, before Nutter grabbed the lead with a 23-yard touchdown pass to Heyward Skipper for a 31-24 lead with four seconds left in the first half.

After the two teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter, Troy State put the game away 10 fourth-quarter points.

Middle Tennessee quarterback Wes Counts also threw for three touchdowns. Counts hit 26 of 43 pass attempts for 331 yards.
