BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ Quarterback Josh Kellett rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns to lead Samford to a 34-18 win over Jacksonville State Saturday. The Bulldogs (3-2) tallied 414 rushing yards while holding the Gamecocks (1-3) to 57. Samford held onto the ball for more than 39 minutes. Jerome Russell ran 15 times for 99 yards to become the school's all-time rushing leader with 2,451 yards, surpassing Brady Jones, who compiled 2,443 yards from 1988-90. Kadell Wright rushed for a pair of 1-yard TDs in the fourth quarter, pushing Samford's lead to 34-10 before Gamecock quarterback Reggie Stancil scored on a 5-yard run with 2:24 left. Kellett had scoring runs of 9, 1 and 17 yards. He was 6-of-10 passing for 58 yards. Jacksonville State's Joey Hamilton caught seven passes for 92 yards, returning a kick 100 yards in the first quarter. Stancil went 17-of-36 for 182 yards. He was intercepted once.
