CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) _ Furman got pairs of touchdowns from Des Kitchings and Louis Ivory Saturday to lead the Paladins to a 27-19 win over Western Carolina in the Southern Conference.

Kitchings opened the scoring just before the end of the first quarter when he hauled in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Justin Hill.

Western Carolina (1-3, 0-2) took a 13-7 lead on two Josh Jones field goals and Michael Banks' 38-yard blocked punt return for a touchdown.

Furman (3-1, 2-0) made it 14-13 on Ivory's 1-yard run.

The Catamounts capped an 88-yard drive with Brad Hoover's 1-yard touchdown run to lead 19-14.

But the Paladins won the fourth quarter with a 12-yard Kitchings run and a 43-yard Ivory gallop. Ivory picked up 150 yards on 27 carries.

Catamounts quarterback Shawn Snyder was 17 for 34 for 240 yards, but gave up four interceptions. Furman's John Keith picked off Snyder twice.
