GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) _ Stuart Rentz rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns to help lift Furman to a 58-0 victory against VMI Saturday.

Louis Ivory also had three scoring runs of 42, 24 and six yards in the first quarters for the Paladins (2-1, 1-0 Southern Conference).

Furman built a 37-0 halftime lead by scoring on all six first-half possessions.

Derek Russell had two touchdown runs as Furman reached 50 points for the second straight game, following a 52-6 win over William and Mary two weeks ago.

Des Kitchings got an 11-yard run off a VMI fumble in the first quarter, while Russell capped Furman's scoring with a 6-yard run off another Keydets' fumble.

The Paladins rushed for a total 381 yards, compared to 80 for VMI (1-3, 0-2).

VMI's Joey Gibson completed four-of-seven for 23 yards in the Keydets' first shutout in four years.
