LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Kurt Kittner threw four touchdown passes and Steve Havard ran for 123 yards and another score as Illinois beat Louisville 41-36 Saturday night.

Kittner was 17-of-24 for 244 yards and touchdowns of 8, 12, 49 and 67 yards as the Illini (3-0) racked up 466 total yards. Havard, who had 23 carries, scored on a 7-yard run.

Chris Redman was 39-of-60 for 450 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for Louisville (2-1).

Illinois took its first lead, 31-27, on a 12-yard pass from Kittner to Mike Craciunoiu with 3:01 to play in the third quarter. Leading 34-30 with 2:13 left in the game, Kittner hit Brandon Lloyd with a 49-yard TD pass to put the game out of reach.

Arnold Jackson caught 11 passes for 194 yards and a 68-yard score for Louisville, while Frank Moreau rushed 25 times for 139 yards and caught nine passes for another 70 yards.

Jon Hilbert kicked field goals of 23, 30 and 31 yards for Louisville.

Hilbert's 31-yard field goal on Louisville's first possession gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead.

Rocky Harvey fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Redman hit Green with an 8-yard scoring pass three plays later as the Cardinals went up 10-0.

Kittner led Illinois on a 14-play, 84-yard drive and Havard scored on a 7-yard blast up the middle to cut the margin to 10-7 with 2:43 to play in the first quarter.

Redman hit Lavell Boyd with an 8-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone on the Cardinals' first drive of the second quarter to increase the lead to 17-7.

But Kittner hit Michael Dean with an 8-yard TD pass with 3:38 to play and, following an interception of Redman, Neil Rackers booted a 24-yard field goal on the last play of the half to tie the game at 17.
