EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- A.J. Feeley threw three touchdown passes and Rueben Droughns ran for 108 yards and a score as Oregon bounced back from a season-opening loss with a 47-28 victory over Texas-El Paso.

Feeley completed 12-of-24 passes for 176 yards. All three scoring tosses came in the second quarter, when the Ducks scored 24 points.

Droughns carried 21 times, including an 11-yard TD run in the third quarter that gave Oregon a 31-16 lead. He has eclipsed 100 yards five times in seven games with the Ducks.

Michael Fletcher had a 57-yard punt return for a touchdown and Oregon turned a blocked punt into a safety in a three-minute stretch of the third quarter.

The Ducks recovered from last week's 27-20 loss to Michigan State and avoided their first 0-2 start since 1992. Texas-El Paso fell to 1-1 and has lost 16 straight games to Pac-10 Conference foes.

Feeley's 22-yard TD pass to LaCorey Collins on the first play of the second quarter gave Oregon a 7-3 lead but UTEP responded with a 90-yard scoring strike from Rocky Perez to Lee Mays, who caught seven passes for 164 yards.

Nathan Villegas kicked a 25-yard field goal to tie the game and Feeley found Collins and Ray Brust from 35 yards, giving the Ducks a 24-10 halftime lead.

Quarterback Jason Stuckey's one-yard TD run capped the opening possession of the second half and cut the deficit to 24-16 before Oregon's offense exploded. Scores by Droughns and Fletcher extended the lead to 38-16 with 3:12 remaining.

After the safety, the Ducks took possession and marched 63 yards, Allan Amundson's two-yard TD run making it 47-16 with 10:19 to go. Paul Smith added TD runs of four and 71 yards for the Miners.

Collins caught three passes for 84 yards for the Ducks, who were outgained, 429-423. Perez was 10-of-17 for 158 yards for UTEP.
