MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) _ Jerome Russell rushed for 128 yards and scored on runs of 38 and 14 yards as Samford stopped Austin Peay 51-0 Saturday.

Russell scored the Bulldogs' first two touchdowns.

Samford (2-0) then got a 2-yard touchdown run from Rashad Brewer, a 45-yard pass from Josh Kellett to Aryvian Holmes and a 47-yard touchdown scamper from Kellett to lead 34-0 lead at the half.

Austin Peay (0-2) did drive to the Samford 16-yard line in the third quarter, but the Governors were unable to convert on a 33-yeard field goal attempt.

Austin Peay quarterback Brian Baker hit 20 of 34 pass attempts for 157 yards. The Governor's Danile Herndon caught six of those passes for 61 yards.
