TOWSON, Md. (AP) _ Running back Jason Corle became Towson's all-time leading rusher as he gained 135 yards and scored two touchdowns as the Tigers beat Lafayette College 35-7 on Saturday.

Towson (2-0, 1-0 Patriot League) opened the scoring with back-to-back touchdown drives in the first quarter. Corle dove into the end zone to complete an 89-yard drive and scored again on a 21-yard screen pass from quarterback Joe Lee.

Adam Overbey caught a 54-yard pass from Lee in the second quarter to give Towson a 21-17 lead at the end of the half.

In the third quarter, Towson's defense scored two touchdowns 21 seconds apart. With 7:37 left in the third, defensive back Ricky Crestwall scored off a 76-yard interception return. Seconds later, Donald Wood recovered a Lafayette fumble and scored on an 8-yard return.
