This week's games to watch

Wednesday
Virginia at Florida State: The Cavs might not get Adam Hall back for the rest of the season. This game could determine if Virginia is a certain NCAA Tournament team. The rest of the schedule isn't as favorable next week.

Memphis at South Florida (ESPN2, 9:30 ET): The Bulls are billing this game as the one that could save their NCAA Tournament hopes. If that's the case then Memphis better have Kelly Wise ready if the Tigers want to keep their chances alive, too.

Maryland at Clemson: This is the ultimate letdown game. The Tigers could be a real spoiler for the Terps in their quest to win the ACC after beating Duke on Sunday.

Creighton at Southern Illinois: The Salukis blew their lead on Creighton and now are in a desperate situation. Southern Illinois is two games back of the resurgent Blue Jays but could use a sweep if it wants to win the tiebreaker.

Ohio State at Indiana: The Big Ten title could be decided with this game. The winner has the inside track. The loser will need help the final week. Ohio State has the guard advantage but not sure if it can be exploited on the road.

Oklahoma State at Texas: If Maurice Baker doesn't play then the Cowboys could have serious trouble dealing with T.J. Ford again. Texas beat the Cowboys in Stillwater last month and is on a roll after beating Missouri Sunday.

Missouri at Texas Tech: The Tigers are searching for answers and they probably won't find them in Lubbock. Texas Tech's win over Colorado was proof that this is more than just a home-cooked team. Missouri needs to win one on the road against a top six Big 12 team to feel more confident going into the Big 12 tourney.

Arizona State at Arizona: The Sun Devils faint NCAA Tournament hopes would certainly have a bit more shine if they can sweep the Wildcats. Arizona won't be gracious hosts. Arizona got swept last week in L.A. in two games it could have won.

Thursday
Rutgers at Pittsburgh: The Scarlet Knights leave the RAC but can they steal one against the best team, the only team that could win at the RAC? Doubtful but if they do then Rutgers will certainly increase its visibility in the NCAA bubble picture.

Duke at Wake Forest (ESPN, 9 ET): Duke is now in the must-win mode to stay with Maryland in the race for the ACC title. Wake Forest doesn't have to worry about making the tournament and will likely run with the Blue Devils.

Minnesota at Michigan State (ESPN, 7 ET): The Gophers are suddenly falling back on the bubble after losing at home to Wisconsin. Michigan State is in a tough spot and can't afford another home loss, possibly another defeat before the NCAA Tournament.

Tulsa at Hawaii: If Hawaii wins, then the Rainbows will likely win the WAC because of its sweep of Tulsa. If Tulsa wins then the pressure is on the Rainbows to sweep Fresno State and Nevada next week.

UCLA at California: The Bruins and Bears have both been Jekyl and Hyde this season. UCLA needs this game for seeding and sanity, Cal probably could use it for a little more comfort on its NCAA Tournament resume.

Washington at Oregon State: Washington's chances for the Pac-10 tournament rest on whether or not the Huskies can beat the Beavers. If not then Arizona State and Oregon State will get the last two spots and both Washington schools will sit home the first week in March.

USC at Stanford: The Trojans continue to play first-place showdowns in the league race. They took care of Arizona Saturday and to win at Stanford Thursday would be an even bigger feat.

Friday
Yale at Princeton: The Bulldogs are on the verge of an Ivy League title but they must come away with a split this weekend to hold off Penn.

Marquette at Cincinnati (ESPN, 7 ET): The Bearcats are anticipating this rematch. It's hard to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament if you're not the top seed in your own conference tournament. Beating Marquette would likely mean a top seed for Cincinnati in the Conference USA tourney.

Saturday
Yale at Penn Penn has to win out to beat Yale for the title (assuming Yale loses two games). Penn has the players to get a split, considering it's the more athletic team. The Palestra will be rocking and this could test just how tough Yale is this season.

Ole Miss at Mississippi State: The Rebels can put a serious hurt in their rivals NCAA chances with a sweep. Mississippi State could end the weekend feeling like a lock with a win.

Florida at Alabama: NCAA, not just SEC, seeding is at stake in this game. The Tide's hopes for a No. 1 seed could still be alive with a win over Florida. The Gators didn't get the good draw for the crossover SEC West road games having to go to Oxford, Miss., and Tuscaloosa, Ala., on consecutive Saturdays.

VCU at UNC Wilmington: VCU trailed Wilmington by two games in the loss column to start the week and any chances of catching Wilmington before the CAA tourney will be decided after this game. A favorable CAA tournament seeding can be the difference in the quest for the NCAA bid.

Notre Dame at Miami (Fla.): The Irish are most likely a lock but winning at Miami would certainly help their case. The ‘Canes are still trying to ensure they get one of the byes for the first round of the Big East tournament.

Illinois at Northwestern: The Wildcats have been spoilers of late in the Big Ten, while they mount their own NIT campaign. Beating Illinois would certainly curtail the Illini's still simmering Big Ten title hopes.

Kent State at Ohio: The Golden Flashes are trying to finish the MAC with just one conference loss. Ohio could be coming off an emotional win (or loss) at North Carolina. Beating the Flashes would do wonders for its confidence heading into the MAC tourney.

Texas at Oklahoma (ESPN, 9 ET): The Longhorns have another brutal week of games and could be spent by Saturday. Oklahoma is in a position to get the No. 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament, which could prove to be important toward a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Utah at BYU: The Utes need to keep pace with Wyoming and the Cougars would like nothing more than to spoil that run. They nearly upset the Utes in Salt Lake City.

Wyoming at Air Force: The Falcons took the Cowboys to four overtimes in Laramie, Wyo., last month. Wyoming can't afford a letdown if it wants to win the MWC.

UCLA at Stanford: The Bruins have saved a season with a win at Maples Pavilion before but it could prove even tougher if they're not going to defend as well.

USC at California The Trojans could be faced with a must split situation to stay in first or could be in a position to sweep and separate themselves in the race for the title.

Sunday
Wake Forest at Maryland (ESPN2, 2 ET): The Terps will not lose at Cole this season. No way. The players and Gary Williams won't let it happen.

Georgetown at Syracuse: Syracuse can snuff Georgetown's at-large chances with a win. Syracuse could have problems with Georgetown's size if the ball goes into Michael Sweetney enough.

Indiana at Michigan State:The Hoosiers will have to earn the Big Ten title on the road with trips to Michigan State and Illinois on the docket. Michigan State is on the bubble but a win here will certainly help.
