This week's games to watch

By Andy Katz
ESPN.com

Saturday
Connecticut at Miami: The Huskies are one of the hottest teams in the nation and are ripe for an upset to the Canes who left Gampel Pavilion earlier in January thinking they should have won the game. If the Huskies win this one then an undefeated (assuming they beat Rutgers earlier in the week) Big East season isn't out of the question.

Ole Miss at Georgia: The Rebels have quietly moved along in the SEC West after a stumbling start. Georgia could have trouble with the Rebels' defense, which won't allow easy buckets. Once again, Rod Barnes' teams continue to get better throughout the season.

Mississippi State at Florida: The Bulldogs pulled off the upset of Kentucky at home and are looking to sleigh the other giant in the SEC East. It's hard to imagine the Gators losing another home game (regardless of what happens earlier in the week against Kentucky) after falling to Georgia at home in January.

Marshall at Ohio: Ohio blew a chance to stay tied with Kent State when it gave up 17 3s to Western Michigan Saturday. Marshall lost at Toledo and continues to be one of the bigger disappointments.

Butler at Wright State: The Bulldogs will be looking for some payback after Wright State snapped their undefeated string to start the Horizon League. Any chance the Bulldogs have of still winning the league title starts with a win here.

Indiana at Minnesota: The Gophers continue to play the role of spoiler after upsetting Ohio State Saturday in Minneapolis. Indiana could move ahead of the Buckeyes if the Hoosiers can beat Minnesota on the road in the chance that it comes down to a tiebreaker between the two teams.

Oklahoma at Texas: The Sooners tough week (isn't everyone a tough go in the Big 12) continues with a road game at rival Texas. The Longhorns are still stunned Texas A&M came in and won last week. Quannas White could use some help defending T.J. Ford, especially his dribble-penetration.

Arizona at Stanford: This is one of the better rivalries that didn't receive much publicity. The two teams have played some of the better games in the in the league race the last few seasons, mainly because they have been two of the three teams fighting for the title. Arizona could come in here in a desperate situation, which makes them even more vulnerable.

Arizona State at Cal: The Sun Devils could be back to square one if they get squashed against Stanford. An upset of Cal would certainly do wonders for their status while hurting Cal's chances of making a run for the league title.

USC at Oregon: The Trojans don't fear going into hostile environments, in fact they relish it considering they don't normally get great crowds at home (save the UCLA crowd at the Forum). Oregon could have trouble with USC's Sam Clancy, a beast on the boards and the Trojans' guards can match Oregon's quickness on the wing.

Sunday
N.C. State at Maryland: The Wolfpack won't be scared going into Cole Field House but the Terps could use this game to create some distance with themselves and N.C. State, regardless of what happens against Virginia earlier in the week.

Virginia at Missouri (ABC, 2 ET): Both teams could be desperate for a big win, depending on what happens earlier in the week. Missouri needs one for its resume while Virginia would still like to beat a non-conference team that is definitely going to the NCAA Tournament (not sure Georgetown is in that category yet).

Southern Illinois at Creighton: The Missouri Valley Conference title could be decided by the outcome of this game. The Blue Jays have been on a remarkable run despite injuries and a suspension. Both teams have emerged as the elite teams in the conference and could make a case for bids.
