Chaney has guided Temple to 17 NCAA Tournaments in his 19 seasons as head coach, including the past 12 seasons which ranks fifth nationally.
The Owls have advanced to five NCAA regional finals since 1988.
Temple has recorded 20 or more wins in 15 seasons, which currently ranks fifth all-time in most 20-win
seasons. The Owls twice reached 32 wins in back-to-back seasons (1986-87; 1987-88).
The Owls have won six Atlantic 10 championships; seven A-10 regular season titles and Chaney has been
named Atlantic 10 Conference Coach of the Year five times. Chaney remains the
winngest coach in Atlantic 10 history with 284 wins.
Cheyney State University (1972-82)
Chaney led his 1978 team to the Division II national championship. For
his efforts, he was named the Division II National Coach of the Year.
In 10 seasons at Cheney State, he led his teams to eight NCAA Division II
Tournament appearances and a third place finish in 1979.
