The NCAA reversed a decision and cleared Georgia's Damien Wilkins and Ezra Williams for the Bulldogs' opener against Texas on Nov. 15 in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Madison Square Garden after the pair was suspended last week for playing in an unsanctioned summer league. Georgia coach Jim Harrick said the NCAA made a "prudent decision,'' by allowing Williams and Wilkins to play in the opener. "It was the league that made the mistake,'' Harrick said. Georgia will still play the opener without forward Steven Thomas, who was suspended for the first three games after being charged with a rape on campus -- charges that were later dismissed. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are waiting to hear an appeal on whether or not Chris Daniels will be allowed to play against Texas, too, after he played in a half of an unsanctioned all-star game in Albany, Ga. On Wednesday, the NCAA appeals committee overturned the suspensions of seven Georgia State players and three Georgia Tech players for playing in the same Kenny Smith Pro-Amateur League at Morehouse College on July 13. The NCAA sanctioned the league, but only from July 17-Aug. 11.
