OUTLOOK First round: Lost to Seton Hall, 72-71
Oregon cracked the top 25 just as the season ended, but that's not because the Ducks weren't solid all season. December wins over Wake Forest and Gonzaga were coming-of-age victories for Oregon, which also staged a monster comeback to defeat Arizona later in the season.
You might not find a faster team end to end than the Ducks. Alex Scales, Frederick Jones and Darius Wright all excel in transition. A.D. Smith has bounced back from a broken cheekbone suffered in late February to provide senior leadership and toughness inside.
The Ducks could take the fact that they earned a worse seed than conference rival UCLA as motivation. This team is making just its second tournament appearance in 29 years.
Good rebounding teams can exploit the Ducks (witness Stanford's two easy victories). But Bryan Bracey and Julian Hicks have improved down the stretch. Slow the Ducks down and they might get frustrated. -- Greg Collins, ESPN.com
