Maryland playbook: Wanting Morris

Somewhere between Duke exceeding expectations and North Carolina failing to meet expectations, Maryland has been lost in the ACC race. The Terps have quietly rolled through the regular season, finishing a solid second in the conference.

The Terps have three guys who could play for anyone, the most talented of whom is likely Terence Morris. The Terps want Mor(ris) -- more respect, more attention, and more wins.

ANIMATE THIS PLAY DIAGRAM WITH SHOCKWAVE
(A) Steve Blake is the Terps' leading assist man, and he starts on the same side as Terence Morris (44). Morris screens for Juan Dixon (3) on the baseline. Dixon ends up at the strong-side post, and Morris is isolated on the weak side.

(B) Danny Miller (15) pops out to get the pass at the top of the key, forming a triangle with Lonny Baxter (35) and Dixon.

(C) Morris (44) is one of the most versatile big men in the country, and he creates trouble for opponents inside and out. He's second on the team in both scoring and rebounding, but he's easily the Terps MVP.

(D) The Terps move the ball around the perimeter as Morris gets a screen from Baxter (35) inside. The Terps get what they want -- Morris, and he finishes strong.
