World Championships scores and schedule

The following is the schedule and results for the 2002 World Basketball Championships, which will be played at Conseco Fieldhouse and the RCA Dome in Indianapolis.

Preliminary Round 1 Games
The top three teams in each group advance to Preliminary Round 2 (top three in Groups A and B advance to Group E; top three in Groups C and D advance to Group F). The fourth-place finishers play for 13th through 16th place.

    Each team's results against teams advancing from its preliminary group will carry over to the second-round standings. Each team then will play the other three teams in the second-round group whom they have not faced in the preliminary round. The top four teams in Groups E and F advance to the quarterfinals (medal round). The fifth- and sixth-place teams play for ninth through 12th place.
