The league's Most Valuable Player is based solely on the regular season, but what should the definition of an MVP be? Does Allen Iverson deserve the MVP award this season?
Here is your definition of MVP:
Iverson right answer for MVP
The MVP should stand for the player who is the
heart and soul of a successful team. Although
Tim Duncan is also a worthy candidate, Allen
Iverson exemplified the true meaning of "most
valuable player" to the Sixers all season long.

A.I. does it all
The MVP should go the the player who brings the
most to his team and who shines brighter than his
competition. Allen Iverson is most definitely the
MVP of the league. He is fearless and carries his
team of mostly role players to a higher level.
Allen does it all. He scores, defends, and he is
the emotional leader all the time. He leaves it
all on the floor. He should have won it last year.

Height no problem for Iverson
Iverson is simply amazing. I haven't seen a 6-foot
guard dominate a game as fierce and passionate
as Iverson has shown this year or any other!

Without hesitation, A.I. deserves MVP
Without a single doubt in my head I knew Iverson
had to be given the MVP. Iverson is dominating
and is making the people around him
better players. Iverson is exactly what the
award says...MOST VALUABLE PLAYER!!!!

Proud 76ers' fan thanks A.I.
Growing up and living in Philly for over 30
years, I have seen a lot of good basketball and a
lot of bad basketball. Iverson brings something
special to the table that no one has ever
brought to Philly. He is a magician. From Wilt
to Dr. J to Sir Charles ... A.I. is now the leader
of Philadelphia and truly recognized as the best
player in the NBA. Congratulations A.I.!

Allen-less: No playoff hopes
I can hear LA and SA complaining already. But
face it, if you take Shaq out of LA or Duncan out
of SA you still have playoff potential in both
teams. You take Allen out of the Sixers and you
have a Top 3 draft pick waiting to happen. If
that isn't the definition of an MVP then I don't
know what is.

MVP vs. the league = Real MVP
It should be the best player in the league. Most
valuable to a particular team is relative to the
abilities of others on that team. Is it Shaq's
fault that he's not the only star caliber player
on his team? It should not be based on how much
you out shine the rest of your teammates, but on
how you stack up to the rest of the stars in the
league.

Simply, A.I. no match for Duncan
Tim Duncan is a much better all-around player
than Iverson could ever dream of being. The
thing about Duncan is that he is a class act on
and off the court (Duncan has no profane rap
album out). The MVP should go to the player who
exhibits both great sportsmanship as well as
those intangibles. Tim Duncan has both, and he
is on a championship caliber team.

Iverson too inconsistent
The league MVP should have gone to Tim Duncan.
Duncan had the best second half of any player,
shot a high percentage, rebounded with the best,
and blocked shots consistently. Iverson shoots
way too low a percentage to be the MVP. It
should not take him 30 shots to record 30
points. His inconsistent shooting should have
kept him out of the running.

Bring home the hardware
I think "The Little Guy" has deserved it this
year. He has worked so hard, along with his
teammates and to take them to the top of the East
is a huge accomplishment. The MVP is a nice
caveat. The NBA Championship would be the crown
of this season.

Duncan wins for shots
No, I do not believe he deserves the award given.
He is a tremendous talent yet you still have to
look at how many shots he is taken compared to
how many he actually makes. Tim Duncan is more
deserving of the award because he is an all-around
talent and his numbers (point wise) are almost
similar to Iverson's with by far superior field
goal percentage.

Shaq in third?
The MVP is not only the best player in the NBA
statistically, but his numbers make his team
better. Allen Iverson and Shaq O'Neal were
definitely MVP candidates, but how does Tim
Duncan come in second over Shaq.

MVP is all the team needs
MVP is a player who plays to win every night and
gives it their all no matter what day and night.
Without their MVP the teams chances of winning is
none and that's what MVP means.

A.I. ignites the NBA
Excellent choice. Iverson has shown the world
that someone with a big heart and drive can
accomplish just about anything. He is amazing how
he dominates in a big man's game at his size.
Love him or hate him he brings back that
excitement that we have not had since Jordan
left. I hope that Philly meets the Lakers and we
can see another version of David meets Goliath.

Iverson proves himself on court
Iverson is a great player and has been awarded
for his achievements on the court. Whatever he
does off the court should not affect him as an NBA
player. I am a Raptors fan and the only player I
worry about when he has the ball is Allen Iverson.
