Coleman out with sprained finger

Associated Press

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Philadelphia 76ers center Derrick Coleman missed Wednesday's game against the Detroit Pistons due to a hand injury.

Coleman, a native of Detroit, sprained his right ring finger Monday against Boston. He is doubtful for Thursday's home game against Dallas.

"It is better than it could have been,'' Sixers coach Larry Brown said. "There isn't any tendon damage, which would have meant losing D.C. for an extended period. Hopefully, this will just be a shorter time frame.''

Philadelphia dressed nine players against Detroit, as Kenny Satterfield (flu) and Efthimios Rentzias (gastroenteritis) missed the trip.
