Rigaudeau plays five scoreless minutes in debut

Associated Press

SEATTLE -- French shooting guard Antoine Rigaudeau made his NBA debut for the Dallas Mavericks in Sunday night's 85-81 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics.

The 31-year-old player signed a three-year contract Friday and practiced with the Mavericks for the first time Saturday.

The 6-foot-7 Rigaudeau has played 16 professional seasons with three European teams and is a five-time French championship MVP.

Rigaudeau spent the first quarter being tutored on the Dallas bench by backup point guard Avery Johnson. Rigaudeau entered the game with 8:33 left in the second period.

Rigaudeau played five scoreless minutes, all in the second period.
