PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Clackamas County grand jury has scheduled a May 2 hearing to consider felony drug charges against Trail Blazers guard Damon Stoudamire.
The county district attorney's office will argue the case before the grand jury, which then will vote whether to indict Stoudamire.
Police said drugs were found on Feb. 23 after an officer responded to a burglar alarm at Stoudamire's Lake Oswego home. The alarm later turned out to be false.
Stoudamire's supporters have said they don't believe the drug belonged to him. Dozens of friends and family members, they said, have access to the house.
Stoudamire has not been arrested or charged and has declined to comment on the investigation. The district attorney's office also has declined to discuss details of the case. |
