Camp question
After an offseason in which Larry Brown revamped his team, how long will it take for the new players to mesh? And what kind of chemistry will the team have? The Sixers subtracted Dikembe Mutombo, Matt Harpring, Speedy Claxton and Corie Blount, but they added Keith Van Horn, Todd MacCulloch, Greg Buckner, Brian Skinner, Monty Williams and Mark Bryant.
Camp project
Allen Iverson has never been able to co-exist with another shooter, which is one reason the Toni Kukoc experiment never worked. Now we see how/if Iverson deals with Van Horn, who led the Nets in scoring last season, made some big shots and is a threat to knock down 3-pointers. However, Van Horn also alienated Jason Kidd and other Nets with his inconsistent and lethargic play.

Who to watch: What are people talking about out of Philly these days? It's not Allen Iverson. Monty Williams, according to other 76ers, has looked great, and with Derrick Coleman's status a question mark, Williams could find himself starting. A good shooter with double-digit scoring potential, Williams could ably replace Matt Harpring. — Eric Karabell

Camp comeback
The Sixers raised a lot of eyebrows by dealing Mutombo within the division to the defending Eastern Conference champion Nets. They felt he had lost something and had soured on playing with Iverson. Whatever the reason, they've brought back MacCulloch, who played two seasons in Philly as a backup before signing with the Nets. MacCulloch's only season in Jersey was marked by problems with his left foot, which caused him to miss 20 games and also rendered him ineffective during the Nets' run to the Finals. The Sixers loved him when they had him, but he's not starting material and isn't going to replace Mutombo at the defensive end as a rebounder or shot-blocker.
Camp controversy
Iverson is a walking controversy. After spending the summer on the front pages of Philly's newspapers because of his domestic dispute, his every move will be watched. Especially when it comes to how he gets along with Larry Brown. This team was humbled by the Celtics in the first round last season, when the Sixers' lack of quickness caught up with them. So
much rides on the Iverson-Brown relationship.
