Clippers end eight-game road skid

RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Eric Piatkowski and the Los Angeles Clippers don't want the season to end. The same can't be said for the Golden State Warriors.

Jeff McInnis scored 22 points as the Clippers beat the Warriors 106-94 Saturday night to reach 30 victories -- double their total from last season -- with two games to play.

"The way we've been playing the second half of the season, we think we can go out and get the last two," said Piatkowski, who scored all 10 of his points in the second half.

"We wanted to double our total from last year. That's a nice round number. It's something to build on for next year. We have so much potential and we've grown so much, it's exciting. We'll all be back and we know where we're going."

Lamar Odom added 19 points for the Clippers, who snapped a nine-game road losing streak. Corey Maggette scored 17.

"We didn't put any specific number on the wins we wanted," Clippers coach Alvin Gentry said. "We just wanted to establish from the start that we'd play hard and compete every night. If you take care of that, the wins will come."

Antawn Jamison scored 36 points and Chris Porter added 20 for the Warriors, who were without four players because of injury and lost their 11th straight.

"We didn't get it done," said Golden State's Corie Blount, who had a career-high 17 rebounds. "I didn't find anything positive about the game. Hopefully next year will be better."

Golden State has won just twice since the All-Star break and shot over 50 percent from the field once since Dec. 29. The Warriors will miss the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year, the longest current drought in the NBA.

"We didn't come out and play," Golden State's Erick Dampier said. "With two games left, there's not much to play for except pride."

The Clippers opened the second half with an 18-8 run. Cherokee Parks hit a 15-foot jumper to give Los Angeles a 68-60 lead with 5:39 left in the third quarter.

Golden State scored less than 20 points in the third quarter for the 20th time this season, and the Clippers built their advantage to 79-67 by the start of the fourth.

"It's the same old story that goes on and on and on," Warriors coach Dave Cowens said. "We can't do anything about it. We just got beat by a better team."

Los Angeles scored the first nine points of the final period, opening its lead to 21 points.

Darius Miles recorded his ninth double-double for the Clippers, with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
