OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Bryon Russell had 18 points and Donyell Marshall had 15 points and 14 rebounds as the Utah Jazz beat the Golden State Warriors 102-83 Wednesday night.

Karl Malone scored 16 points, and the Jazz got big contributions from their reserves in beating Golden State for the 18th time in their last 19 meetings. In addition to Russell's 6-of-9 shooting, Danny Manning scored all 16 of his points after halftime, while Jacque Vaughn had 10 points and 11 assists.

Utah took a big first-quarter lead and never let it drop below eight points while winning for the fifth time in six games.

With San Antonio's 106-100 overtime victory over Minnesota, the Jazz remained a half-game behind the Spurs in the Midwest Division race.

Golden State, which played without injured Marc Jackson and Larry Hughes, lost for the 16th time in 17 games. The Warriors, who haven't won at home in five weeks, fell behind Washington and now hold the NBA's second-worst record at 16-49.
