ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- One victory left the New Jersey Nets
feeling invigorated.
Stephon Marbury scored 30 points as New Jersey snapped a
seven-game losing streak with a 120-110 victory over the Orlando
Magic on Tuesday night.

The victory left the Nets with a fresh outlook.
"This is a new year," Marbury said. "I'm not concentrating on
anything that happened the last two games.
"We are playing with new energy, with a new attitude. If we can
play like this every night, we can give ourselves a chance every
night."
Trailing by 22 points at the start of the fourth quarter,
Orlando went on a 35-17 run and cut its deficit to four points,
108-104, on a pair of free throws by Darrell Armstrong with just
over three minutes remaining.
New Jersey countered with a 12-6 run over the final 3:08 to seal
the win.
"I thought, 'Oh no, here we go again,' " New Jersey's Kendall
Gill said. "But I think things need to fall our way. The law of
averages was on our side tonight because we've had enough bad luck
this year."
Marbury shot 10-for-11 from the line and added six assists and
three steals for the Nets, who shot 59.3 percent through three quarters.
Kenyon Martin scored 10 of his season-high 25 points in the
fourth period and added six rebounds and four blocked shots for the
Nets. Gill had 20 points and eight rebounds, Stephen Jackson scored
16 and Aaron Williams had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Troy Hudson scored 20 points in the fourth quarter and finished
with a career-high 30 for Orlando. Hudson shot 12-for-18 from the
field and 4-for-4 from the line.
Tracy McGrady and Armstrong each scored 17 points for the Magic. Pat Garrity added 11 points and Mike Miller had 10.
Hudson said Orlando waited too long to get started.
"(New Jersey) came out with a lot of intensity," Hudson said.
"We didn't match it. They came out with energy and effort, more
effort than we did in the first quarter and we dug ourselves too
big of a hole to get out of."
McGrady, who scored a total of 71 points in Orlando's two
previous games against New Jersey, shot 7-for-17 Tuesday.
"I thought Kendall Gill was the quiet assassin," Magic coach
Doc Rivers said. "He did a nice defensive job on T-Mac. Kendall
Gill's the guy who got 31 and 40 back-to-back scored on him and yet
he came out tonight and outscored (McGrady) and just played really
hard."
Game notes
New Jersey's Jim McIlvaine (lower back strain) did not
travel with the team. ... New Jersey surpassed 100 points in a game
for the fifth time this season. ... The Nets' point total was the
team's second highest of the season. New Jersey scored 126 against
Seattle on Nov. 11. ... The loss ended a six-game home winning
streak for Orlando. ... The Magic did not lead in a game for the
first time this season. ... Orlando is 9-2 this year when scoring
100 or more points.
