CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) _ Allen Iverson scored 26 points and the Philadelphia 76ers took advantage of 23 turnovers, beating the Toronto Raptors 107-98 in an exhibition game Monday night.

Vince Carter returned to the University of North Carolina, his alma mater, and scored 38 points for the Raptors, including 16 in the final quarter. Carter shot 17-for-25 from the field.

"I'm not here to put on a show. I'm here to get better and to win. I've learned not to get caught up in that," Carter said when asked about returning to the floor where he played his college ball.

Carter's windmill dunk in the third quarter brought the crowd at the Smith Center to its feet. But Carter and the Raptors were foiled by turnovers.

The Sixers, helped by seven Toronto turnovers, went on an 18-6 run in the first quarter and led 60-48 at the half. Philadelphia increased its lead to 17 with 4:58 left in the third on consecutive baskets by Eric Snow and Lynch.

The Raptors (2-2), behind Carter, stormed back, scoring on nine consecutive possessions and closing to 95-92 with 5:27 remaining.

But Theo Ratliff scored on a follow shot, and after Carter missed a 3-point attempt, Iverson scored on a three-point play to seal the win.

"We've still got a few guys who aren't there yet," Toronto coach Lenny Wilkens said.

The Sixers (3-1) won their second straight game with Randy Ayers at the helm. Ayers is subbing for head coach Larry Brown, who is taking some time off after returning from the Summer Olympics.

Philadelphia's Tyrone Hill and Toronto's Charles Oakley of Toronto were ejected before the game. The two exchanged words at midcourt three minutes before tip-off, and Oakley hit Hill in the face before the two were separated.
