Nesby, Odom order up a win for Clips

RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Tyrone Nesby stopped worrying, and it's made all the difference in his shot selection.

Nesby scored a season-high 28 points and Lamar Odom added 22 and a career-high seven blocked shots as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Golden State Warriors 103-99 on Wednesday night.

"I'm feeling good about my shot and I'm not thinking about it," said Nesby, who was two points short of his career high. "If I miss, it's OK. I don't get mad."

Eric Piatkowski also scored 22 for the Clippers, who ended a six-game losing streak on the road and won for the first time this season after trailing at halftime.

"That was fun," Piatkowski said. "We were running more than we normally do, and knocking down shots."

John Starks scored 22 points to lead the Warriors, who have lost three of their last four. Vonteego Cummings had a career-high 13 assists to go with 12 points as six Warriors players reached double figures.

Golden State had a chance to tie it in the final 10 seconds after Los Angeles threw the ball away under the Warriors basket. Cummings, however, missed a 3-pointer, and Troy Hudson hit a free throw for the final margin.

"I think we took this team for granted and that kind of hurt us," Warriors forward Antawn Jamison said. "I wish we could play this game over because we should have played better. It's hard to swallow."

Odom gave the Clippers their biggest lead of the night at 85-75 when he hit a short jumper at 8:37 of the final quarter.

"Our offense was clicking all day from every aspect," Odom said. "Everybody was touching the ball and getting good shots up."

Golden State went on an 8-0 run to pull within 85-83 with 6:13 remaining, and had a chance to tie but Jamison, returning after sitting out four games with a strained left hip flexor, missed two free throws.

The Warriors pulled to within 87-86 when Starks hit a 3-pointer with 5:08 to play, but Nesby responded with a 3-pointer of his own. Hudson also scored to give the Clippers a 92-86 edge.

"They hit some big shots and took a lot of three-point baskets," Golden State's Chris Mills said. "They got some good looks and weren't hesitating to shoot it."

Los Angeles led by seven after Piatkowski hit a 3-pointer with 3:19 left. The Warriors closed to within 96-94 on a Starks basket, but could get no closer.

Keith Closs, who had season highs with 10 points and eight rebounds, put Los Angeles up for good at 71-70 with a pair of free throws with two minutes left in the third quarter.

Jason Caffey had 16 points for the Warriors and Mills added 15.

Odom scored nine of the Clippers' first 19 points, making his first four shots, as Los Angeles took an early 19-11 lead. Odom didn't score again until late in the third quarter after missing his next six shots.

The Warriors came back to take a 48-46 halftime lead.
