Bulls suffer ninth straight loss

RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

CHICAGO (AP) -- The "Big Dog" took the big shot for the Milwaukee Bucks after they'd squandered a big lead.

Glenn Robinson hit a go-ahead jumper with 13.6 seconds and after the Chicago Bulls missed three shots before the buzzer, the Bucks pulled out a 92-91 victory Saturday night.

"The play was designed to get a post-up shot. No one had a real open shot," Robinson said. "They got me the ball and I just made a tough shot at the end."

Ron Artest, whose 3-point shooting helped Chicago rally, was supposed to foul Robinson because the Bulls had one to give.

He didn't do it.

So Robinson, who had missed his previous game with a sore right calf and sat out the final five minutes of third quarter Saturday after turning his left ankle, muscled past Dedric Willoughby and went over Artest for the jumper.

"A rookie mistake," Bulls coach Tim Floyd said.

"I had him fronted and then all of a sudden I forgot about the foul, the clock runs down and he hits the shot," Artest said.

The Bulls suffered their ninth straight loss and fell to 1-14.

After Robinson's basket, Artest missed a driving layup. The ball went out of bounds to Chicago with eight seconds to go, Willoughby missed a 3-pointer and Elton Brand rebounded before missing a 13-footer at the buzzer.

"We had three good looks," Brand said.

"It hurts. It really does," Floyd said. "They all hurt. But our opportunities have been few and far between."

Sam Cassell scored 23 points and Robinson and Ray Allen 19 apiece for Milwaukee. Artest, who sparked Chicago's comeback, scored a career-high 21 and Brand had 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Artest hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final 1:35 before Brand gave Chicago its only lead at 91-90 by hitting a turnaround jumper with 29 seconds to go.

Then Robinson bailed the Bucks out.

"We went through a dry spell in the fourth quarter where they were making shots and climbed back in the game," Robinson said.

The Bucks made 10 of their first 14 shots -- five of them dunks -- against Chicago's slow-footed defense and jumped to a 24-11 lead late in the first quarter.

Danny Manning scored 11 second-period points, the Bucks went up by as many as 17 and settled for a 53-41 halftime lead behind 59 percent shooting.

The Bulls used a late surge at the end of the third quarter to cut the lead to seven as Artest hit two 3-pointers and dunked after a steal.
