LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Rookie Shawn Marion, who played at UNLV, returned to his college town and scored 16 points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 95-73 preseason victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.

Marion also grabbed nine rebounds for Phoenix.

Toby Bailey scored 15 points and Rodney Rogers added 13 for the Suns (5-2).

Shaquille O'Neal had 26 points and 17 rebounds for the Lakers (3-4). Glen Rice added 21 points, and Devean George had 11 rebounds and seven points.

Phoenix went on a 9-3 run to end the third quarter and build a 70-61 lead. The Suns finished the game with a 14-3 run, including eight points by Randy Livingston.
