INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ After starting the preseason with two losses, the Phoenix Suns are back on track.

Jason Kidd had 22 points and seven assists as the Suns defeated the Miami Heat 115-100 in an NBA exhibition game Thursday night at the Forum.

Clifford Robinson scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, Tom Gugliotta had 17 points and eight rebounds, and reserve Rodney Rogers added 15 points for the Suns, now 2-2.

Alonzo Mourning led Miami (1-2) with 29 points and nine rebounds, while Tim Hardaway added 17 points.

Phoenix led 60-59 at halftime and took an 89-83 lead into the fourth quarter after outscoring the Heat 29-24 in the third.

Miami rookie swingman Rodney Buford opened the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer, but the Suns put the game away soon after as Rogers and Gugliotta each scored four points during an 11-1 run to boost their lead to 102-89.

Mourning's 13 points helped the Heat to a 36-26 lead after one quarter. Kidd's eight second-quarter points helped Phoenix erase the 10-point deficit and build a one-point lead at halftime. The Suns took the lead for good on Rex Chapman's 17-foot jumper with 3:38 left in the half.

Phoenix guard Penny Hardaway and Miami guard Rex Walters were ejected after a scuffle at the end of the first quarter. Walters pushed Hardaway with both hands and Hardaway responded with a punch.
