LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (Ticker) -- Ray Allen scored 22 points and Glenn Robinson added 20 as the Milwaukee Bucks overcame a 20-point first-quarter deficit for a 109-100 exhibition victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Sam Cassell added 17 points and eight assists for the Bucks (3-0), who trailed 35-15 after one quarter but climbed within 55-52 at halftime. Milwaukee took the lead for good by holding the Timberwolves to 13 points in the third quarter.

One of the best shooting teams in the NBA last season, the Bucks shot 50 percent (41-of-82) from the field and made 19-of-22 free throws. They also hit 8-of-14 3-pointers, including three apiece by Allen and Robinson.

Kevin Garnett collected 19 points and 11 rebounds for Minnesota (2-1), which also shot 50 percent (37-of-74), including 6-of-11 from behind the arc.

The Timberwolves received solid games from their first-round picks. Forward Wally Szczerbiak scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting and guard William Avery added 14 points, making 4-of-5 3-pointers.

Center Radoslav Nesterovic, Minnesota's 1998 first-round pick, contributed 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Timberwolves were without former Buck Terrell Brandon, who was not with the team due to a death in the family.
