Chronicling the free-agent movement

 ESPN.com

Everyone loves rumors. Now that free agents can sign their deals, we've removed from this list the people who have made their deals official. But as you can see, there are still plenty of available players who can help teams.

TOP FREE AGENTS
PLAYER HEADING? SKINNY
Brian Grant Blazers
Lakers
Knicks
Cavs
Angered the Blazers by opting out of huge deal. The Cavs wanted to deal Shawn Kemp for Grant straight up, but Grant said no. Our guess is he remains in Oregon.

Glen Rice Lakers
Hornets
Bulls
Bulls don't want him, but they need to sign someone with all that cap room. Hey, Glen, still think you're getting the $14 mil max? Rice won't be a Laker, and there are strong rumors he will be dealt to Charlotte for the recently acquired P.J. Brown.

Tim Hardaway Heat
Raptors
Another PG, but is he healthy? Pat Riley's loyalty keeps Timmy with Heat. Timmy's knees, though, put him closer to retirement.

Brad Miller Bulls
Hornets
Charlotte can match any bid up to $4 million per; after that, it's anyone's game. And curiously, Charotte doesn't seem to want the guy. Now it looks like the Bulls might overpay for him. They gotta get somebody.

Toni Kukoc Lakers
76ers
Heat
Europe
Sixers might want to keep him, but can he resist if Phil comes calling?

Maurice Taylor Magic
Pistons
Wanted no part of Clippers, and now says he's headed to Disney World. Of course, they can only offer him a measly 2 mil. Maybe he can find his rebounding prowess there.

Reggie Miller, Rik Smits Pacers Miller and Smits will retire in Indy. It will be a while for Miller, but the Pacers are awaiting word of Smits' plans.
