Spent most of the season with Triple A Tucson, where he hit .295 with eight triples, 13 homers and 66 RBIs in 85 games ... Recalled by the Astros twice, once briefly from May 19-June 2 and again on Aug. 1 ... Led the Astros in home run ratio (one per 13.0 at bats) and tied for best RBI ratio (one per 5.0 at bats) ... Posted major league career bests in average, hits, homers, RBIs and consecutive game hitting streak (10 games).

1994
Signed by Tucson, Houston Astros organization as a free agent on May 2, 1994 ... Recalled from Class AAA Tucson after Steve Finley was placed on the D.L. ... Appeared in only six games ... Was hitless in two pinch-hit appearances ... Stole a base as a pinch-runner on June 26 vs. the Dodgers ... Sent outright to Tucson on June 27.

1993
Spent the entire season at Las Vegas (AAA), San Diego's top minor league affiliate.

1992
Was recalled from Tucson Sept. 8 and homered in his first at-bat the next day off San Francisco's Kevin Rogers ... Hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the 13th to beat Los Angeles 3-2 on Oct. 3.

1991
Spent the last half of the year with Houston after making the shift from first base to the outfield ... Started 38 games in right field for the Astros, including 21 consecutive starts July 24-Aug. 28 ... Participated in his second career triple play Aug. 4, following the triple killing he finished at first base at Atlanta Sept. 12, 1990.

1990
Made his major league debut on Sept. 5 at San Diego, striking out against Craig Lefferts in his first at-bat ... First major league hit was a game-winning single in the 13th inning off Cincinnati's Tim Layana Sept. 12 ... Went 3-for-5 in his first start, Sept. 21 at Atlanta, hitting his first major league home run in the 10th inning off Kent Mercker to win the game.
