| Lackey |
Lackey has good stuff and knows how to use it.
Although he has already pitched 2 1/3 innings in Game 2, he will still need to control his emotions and stay calm and try not to get intimidated by the names of Barry Bonds and Jeff Kent.
He has the right combination of stuff to match up well against this Giant lineup. I can see him going to his breaking ball heavily against the right-handed batters. He will need to spot his fastball and keep out of hitting counts.
If Lackey is keeping the ball down in the zone, he will induce a lot of ground balls. If he has trouble locating down, then the Giants will have their way with him.

| Rueter |
Rueter is a great matchup with the Angel hitters. He works quickly and off the plate.
Rueter should have his way if his control is good. The Angels are swingers, and Rueter has the strength of control on his side. Look for Rueter to change speeds and location often.
He will need to control the top of the order to be successful. David Eckstein will be a key battler for Rueter. Once the Angels start swinging at his offerings, then he will be able to get them out of the zone.
When he is throwing at his best, he works out of trouble well. He isn't a big strikeout guy so he will try to get the ground ball when in trouble. If he is locating the ball down, he will be effective.
