MINNEAPOLIS -- Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett and his wife completed their divorce, ending their 16-year marriage.

Puckett, 42, and Tonya Puckett reached an agreement under which he will pay $4,000 a month in child support for their children -- a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. Puckett also will pay most of the cost for the children to attend school and $6,000 a year for camps and sports activities.

District Judge Charles Porter approved the agreement Monday, the Star Tribune reported.

Tonya Puckett received the family's Edina home, which has an estimated market value of $1.3 million, and custody of the children. Kirby Puckett was awarded his Bloomington condominium, and the family's home in St. Croix Falls, Wis.

Robert Zalk, Kirby Puckett's attorney, said Puckett told him that "he wanted to be generous with his wife and children, and the settlement is consistent with those intentions."

Puckett, who helped Minnesota win two World Series titles and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2001, ended his job as executive vice president of the Twins in November and was negotiating for part-time work with the team, according to the agreement.

Puckett is scheduled for trial March 24 on charges that he pulled a woman into the men's room at a restaurant in September and fondled her. Puckett is charged with false imprisonment, a felony, and fifth-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
