CHICAGO WHITE SOX - SCOTT CHIASSON, 23, RHP, FROM OAKLAND

Went 11-4 with 3.06 ERA for Class-A Visalia last season and fanned 150 batters in 156 innings...Won nine of his final 12 decisions and posted a 2.16 ERA from June-September. The ERA was a career best, seventh-best in California League and third-best in Athletics organization....Was part of the first postseason no-hitter in California League history last season when he pitched the first six innings of an 8-3 win over Modesto...Originally selected by the Royals in fifth round of the 1998 draft out of Eastern Connecticut State and was dealt to the Athletics as part of Jay Witasick deal on June 10, 1999.

MINNESOTA TWINS - BRANDON KNIGHT, 25, RHP, FROM TEXAS

Went 10-12 with 4.44 ERA for Triple-A Columbus last season...Led minor leagues with eight complete games, including a string of four in five starts...Finished second in Triple-A with 184 2/3 innings pitched...Had best season in 1997, when he won 13 games between Class-A and Double-A while with Rangers organization... 1995 Southern California Junior College Player of the Year while at Ventura Community College...Originally selected by the Rangers in the 14th round of the 1995 draft and dealt to the Yankees in the Chad Curtis deal on December 14, 1999.

MONTREAL EXPOS - TED ROSE, 27, RHP, FROM CINCINNATI

Went 6-4 with 2.96 ERA while splitting last season between Double-A and Triple-A...Went 4-2 with 1.10 ERA while fanning 51 batters and issuing just nine walks in 41 innings at Double-A Chattanooga...Led Southern League with 29 starts in 1998 and placed third in Reds organization with 11 victories...Selected by the Reds in the 14th round of the 1996 draft out of the University of South Carolina.

BALTIMORE ORIOLES - JAY GIBBONS, 23, 1B/DH, FROM TORONTO

Finished second in Class-AA Southern League in batting average (.321), first in slugging percentage (.525), second in runs (85) and doubles (38), third in hits (152) and fourth in on-base percentage (.404) last season...Posted best average of any minor leaguer (.435) in June...Owns a .333 career batting average, .568 slugging percentage and .405 on-base percentage...Won rookie level Pioneer League Triple Crown in 1998 (.397, 19 HR, 98 RBI)...Selected by Blue Jays in 14th round of 1998 draft out of UCLA.

KANSAS CITY ROYALS - ENDY CHAVEZ, 22, OF, FROM NEW YORK METS

Hit .298 with 38 steals in 111 games for Class-A St. Lucie last season...Finished fifth in league and fourth in Mets organization in stolen bases while finishing tied for sixth among Mets minor leaguers in batting average...Hit .279 with 29 stolen bases between two Class-A levels in first full professional season in 1999...Signed by Mets as non-drafted free agent on April 29, 1996.

DETROIT TIGERS - JERMAINE CLARK, 24, 2B, FROM SEATTLE

Hit .293 for Double-A New Haven last season...Was successful on 83 percent of his steal attempts, and his 38 thefts ranked third-best in the league... Finished second in Eastern League with .421 on-base percentage and led the loop with 18 sacrifice hits...Batted .464 with .583 on-base percentage and led New Haven with six runs scored in the postseason...Owns career .407 career on-base percentage...Selected by the Mariners in the fifth round of the 1997 draft out of the University of San Francisco.

SAN DIEGO PADRES - DONALDO MENDEZ, 22, SS, FROM HOUSTON

Hit .270 while leading AstroS minor leaguers with 39 stolen bases last season...Played just 116 games from 1996-99 due to injuries, notably a shoulder injury which forced Mendez to miss the entire 1998 season and most of the '99 campaign...Signed by Astros as non-drafted free agent on November 16, 1995.

ANAHEIM ANGELS - RANDY ESPINA, 22, LHP, FROM TORONTO

Went 6-1 with 2.11 ERA for Double-A Tennessee last season, winning twice as many games as he had over his previous four seasons combined...Posted 1.60 ERA from June-September... Originally signed by Twins as non-drafted free agent on February 5, 1995, then signed by Phillies on March 30, 1999 after he was released and was then selected by Blue Jays in last year's Rule V minor league draft.

LOS ANGELES DODGERS - JOSE NUNEZ, 21, LHP, FROM NEW YORK METS

Went 3-4 with 3.02 ERA for Class-A Columbia last season, fanning 112 batters in 95 1/3 innings...Posted a SO/BB ratio of nearly 5:1...Never had ERA higher than 3.26 in any month last season and has posted career 3.30 ERA over five seasons...Signed by Mets as non-drafted free agent on February 21, 1996.

NEW YORK METS - JULIO SANTANA, 27, RHP, FROM SAN FRANCISCO

Split last season between Triple-A Pawtucket (5-3, 4.71 ERA) and Montreal Expos (1-5, 5.67 ERA)...Had best season in 1994, when he won 13 games while splitting season between Rangers' Class-A and Double-A clubs...Has pitched with four different organizations over 10-year career..Only player in draft with major league experience...Originally signed as free agent by Rangers on February 18, 1990.
