Brewers sign OF James Mouton to minor league contract

ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have cornered the market on outfielders named Mouton.

The Brewers today signed James Mouton to a minor league contract and invited him to major league spring training. Terms were not disclosed.

The 30-year-old Mouton played for the Montreal Expos last season, batting .262 in 95 games. Used primarily as a pinch hitter, Mouton hit two homers and drove in 13 runs. Originally drafted by Houston in 1991, Mouton also has played in the San Diego organization.

Outfielder Lyle Mouton, no relation, is on Milwaukee's 40-man roster.
