D-Backs' pen spoils Anderson's start

RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME LOG

MIAMI (AP) -- In between Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson, the Diamondbacks sent out Brian Anderson to face the Marlins.

While Anderson did his job, Florida rallied against Arizona's bullpen and beat the Diamondbacks 4-2 Saturday night as Dave Berg hit a tiebreaking two-run single in a three-run eighth inning.

Jesus Sanchez, Dan Miceli (4-2) and Antonio Alfonseca combined on a two-hitter, helping Florida beat the Diamondbacks for just the fourth time in 19 meetings. Arizona had won six straight at Miami.

Anderson, winless in six starts since June 28, allowed one run and five hits in 6 1/3 innings, but Byung-Hyun Kim (2-5) couldn't hold a 2-1 lead.

Mark Smith singled and stole second, Preston Wilson walked, Kim threw a wild pitch and Mike Lowell's bloop double down the right-field line tied it.

Mike Morgan then relieved and Berg singled to center.

Miceli pitched a hitless eighth and Alfonseca threw a perfect ninth for his 30th save in 33 chances.

Sanchez allowed two runs, two hits and six walks in seven innings, striking out five. He threw a run-scoring wild pitch in the third and allowed Damian Miller's fourth-inning homer.

Florida pulled to 2-1 in the seventh on Ramon Castro's sacrifice fly.

Game notes
Anderson hit a booming 400-foot double in the fourth, his second double of the season. He is 10-for-47 (.213) at the plate this season. ... Lowell's line-drive got lodged in the cushions under the left-field scoreboard for a ground-rule double in the fifth. ... Luis Castillo went 0-for-4, ending his hitting streak at 19 games, two shy of tying the team record set by Greg Colbrunn, now with Arizona.
