LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Eric Karros' RBI single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 13-12 victory over Florida on Saturday night after the Marlins rallied from eight runs down to tie the game. Karros' single off Antonio Alfonseca (0-3) on a hit-and-run play ended a wild game that saw the Dodgers go up 10-2 after three innings, only to see the Marlins tie it on Derrek Lee's two-out, solo homer in the ninth. Karros' winning hit came after Green led off with a single and Gary Sheffield walked. Jeff Shaw (1-1), who surrendered the tying home run, pitched one inning and was credited with the victory. Lee's homer, his second of the game, cost Shaw his second blown saves in eight chances. Sheffield hit a pair of homers and drove in five runs in his first two at-bats as the Dodgers scored nine runs in the first two innings. Lee, whose homers were his second and third of the year, also had a solo shot following Mike Lowell's three-run homer in the fifth inning, when the Marlins scored seven unearned runs to narrow the gap to 10-9. Los Angeles scored twice in the sixth to go up 12-9, then the Marlins answered with two runs in the seventh and just missed pulling into a tie -- Sheffield threw Lee out at the plate as Lee tried to score from second on pinch-hitter Kevin Millar's single to left. Lee went 3-for-4 and also was hit by a pitch. Lowell was 3-for-5 with four RBI. Mark Grudzielanek and Karros also homered for Los Angeles, and Devon White went 4-for-6. The Dodgers, who sent nine men to the plate in each of the first two innings, rocked Jesus Sanchez for eight runs on eight hits in 1 1/3 innings. Darren Dreifort allowed two Florida runs in the first, then was victimized for the seven unearned runs. He gave up six hits, walked two and struck out four in five innings. Sheffield's homers, his eighth and ninth, both came off Sanchez. Grudzielanek, a former shortstop moved over to second this season, opened the door for the Marlins to get back in the game after they loaded the bases with one out in the fifth. His throw sailed past shortstop Kevin Elster and into foul territory down the left-field line as all three runners scored. Later in the inning, Lowell hit a three-run homer, his fifth, and Lee followed with a solo shot, his second. White began their early rally with a leadoff single in the first, and Grudzielanek followed with his second homer of the year. Green walked, then Sheffield homered over the wall in left center. Todd Hundley's RBI single gave Los Angeles a 5-2 lead. In the second, Grudzielanek and Green singled with one out and Sheffield hit a two-run homer to center. Karros then greeted reliever Ricky Bones with his sixth homer. David Berg scored Florida's first run on a wild pitch by Dreifort, then Lowell hit an RBI double. Game notesBoth benches emptied in the seventh inning when Florida's Dan Miceli threw a pitch close enough to Adrian Beltre's head, sending Beltre sprawling. But the umpires stood between the teams, and the players soon turned and returned to the dugouts. ... The last time the Marlins scored at least 10 runs and lost was June 18, 1999, in an 11-10 defeat at Colorado. ...
