ATLANTA (AP) _ John Rocker drew loud cheers in his first outing at Turner Field since his controversial magazine remarks and got the save in the Atlanta Braves' 6-3 win over the Cleveland Indians on Saturday.

The game also marked the first appearance of the spring in the field for Indians center fielder Kenny Lofton, who underwent surgery for a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder less than four months ago.

Lofton, who appeared in three spring games as a designated hitter, left after batting in the seventh inning. He went 1-for-3 with a walk, stole two bases and scored a run. He had three routine fly balls in the outfield and didn't have to make any hard throws.

Steve Sisco hit his second home run in two games _ a three-run shot for Atlanta.

Many in the home crowd of 32,857 stood and cheered Rocker for nearly a minute when he raced in from the bullpen in the ninth in his first outing at home since offending gays, foreigners and minorities in a Sports Illustrated article during the winter.

There were a few scattered boos.

Rocker struck out the first hitter, Jacob Cruz on five pitches, retired Einar Diaz on a routine fly to center on two pitches. Alex Rodriguez struck out on a 2-2 checked swing curve ball, but reached first when the pitch got by catcher Toby Rumfield.

Rocker then struck out Richie Sexson to end the game, again drawing loud cheers from the crowd.

Sisco, a non-roster invitee to spring training, hit his fifth homer of the spring off Sean DePaula to break a 2-2 tie in the sixth. He also homered in Friday night's 5-0 win over Baltimore.

Atlanta's Wally Joyner hit a two-run homer _ his first of the spring _ in the third off Cleveland starter Jaret Wright.

Trenidad Hubbard doubled in the eighth and scored on two wild pitches by Paul Shuey for Atlanta's other run.

Wright left without getting an out in the sixth after giving up a double to Chipper Jones and a single to Hubbard in the sixth. DePaula came on to give up Sisco's homer.

Wright gave up six hits, four runs, walked one and struck out five in five innings.

David Justice had a pair of hits for the Indians, including a solo home run in the second, his third of the spring.

The Indians added runs in the sixth on an RBI double by Enrique Wilson and in the seventh on a run-scoring single by Sandy Alomar.

Notes: The Indians cut their roster to 27, optioning infielders Russell Branyan and John McDonald to Triple-A Buffalo and reassigning to their minor league camp outfielder Mark Whiten, catcher Jesse Levis and left-handed pitcher Mark Watson. They also signed pitcher Scott Sanders to a minor-league contract. ... The Braves' John Smoltz, a Michigan native who will miss the entire season after undergoing elbow surgery, was in the clubhouse Saturday wearing a green-and-white Michigan State jersey and cap. The Spartans played Wisconsin on Saturday night in one Final Four game.
