KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) _ Dwight Gooden pitched three scoreless innings and Lance Berkman drove in the winning run with a single in the eighth inning Saturday to lead the Houston Astros to a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Astros. Gooden came out after the third inning for precautionary reasons after being hit on the thumb with a ball. He allowed two hits and walked two. Reliever Jay Powell earned the victory with a scoreless eighth inning. Billy Wagner notched his fourth save of the spring with a perfect ninth inning. Montreal's Vladimir Guererro had a solo homer off reliever Kip Gross in the fourth inning. He finished 2-for-3. Houston's Jeff Bagwell had a run-scoring double in the first inning. He finished 2-for-3. Glen Barker started the game-winning rally in the eighth inning with a single and stolen base. Bergman drove him in with single up the middle off J.D. Smart. Barker's steal was one of four on the day by Houston. Montreal starter Hideki Irabu allowed one earned run on two hits in five innings. He struck out five and walked three.
