PHOENIX (AP) _ Henry Rodriguez hit a two-run homer and Jeff Huson added a two-run double as the Chicago Cubs defeated Milwaukee 8-7 Sunday in rainy, chilly weather.

The victory was the third in three tries for the Cubs under manager Don Baylor.

With two out in the top of the first, Rodriguez sliced a 2-1 pitch from Brewers starter Jaime Navarro over the wall in left-center, his first homer of the spring. He hit 26 last season.

Navarro, making his exhibition debut for the Brewers, allowed three hits and a walk while striking out one batter in three innings.

His replacement, Greg Mix, allowed four hits and three runs in one inning as Chicago built a 5-2 lead. Cubs starter Kyle Farnsworth also worked three innings, giving up two runs on five hits.

Outfielder Matt Luke had three hits including two doubles and Geoff Jenkins, Damon Hollins and Lou Collier added two apiece for Milwaukee, which stranded 10 runners.

The Brewers, who played their second consecutive errorless game, rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth against Kerry Lacy before lefty Danny Young picked up the save.

Game-time temperature was 60 degrees.

Several players slipped on the wet turf but all avoided serious injury except Brewers left-hander Ricardo Jordan, who sprained his left ankle while running after a popup.

Jordan's condition is to be evaluated Monday.
