What an incredible Thanksgiving weekend of college football. And this Saturday could be even better, with Colorado and Texas playing for the Big 12 championship, and a title at stake in the SEC as Tennessee takes on Florida at The Swamp and Auburn squares off against LSU in Baton Rouge.

Penn State continued its amazing turnaround, remaining in the bowl hunt after a comeback at Michigan State.

In addition, No. 1 Miami travels to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech, with a win securing a spot in the Rose Bowl for the 'Canes. Just a few weeks ago at Chestnut Hill, Miami was extremely fortunate to come away with a hard-fought victory against Boston College.

At Blacksburg, will the weather be a critical factor working against the Hurricanes? If you're a Virginia Tech supporter, hope for a cold, raw, windy day. At Boston College, Miami QB Ken Dorsey struggled throwing in windy conditions.

This past weekend also saw Penn State continue its amazing turnaround, remaining in the bowl hunt after a one-for-the-books comeback at Michigan State. The difference-maker was redshirt freshman QB Zack Mills, who continues to provide the Nittany Lions' offense with the necessary magic.

It was great to see Indiana's spectacular senior signal caller, Antwaan Randle El, lead the Hoosiers to a victory in his final Big Ten game (even though his 7-of-19 passing statistics didn't jump off the page). This week, Randle El closes out his career when the Hoosiers take on Kentucky in Bloomington. Expect the scoreboard operator to be busy during this one. By the way, you can watch Randle El in the Hula Bowl (the senior all-star game) on Saturday, Feb. 2 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Pittsburgh junior wideout Antonio Bryant didn't come through with the All-American year that was expected. But on Saturday against West Virginia, he keyed the Panthers' 23-17 victory over the Mountaineers. Bryant showcased his big-time ability while displaying the competitiveness and fire of a top-flight, go-to wideout. If Bryant brings his "A" game on a week-to-week basis next season, he'll rise to (or at least near) the top of a supremely talented group of senior receivers in 2002.

Georgia senior RB Verron Haynes continued his assent up the draft board with another impressive effort in the Bulldogs' victory over Georgia Tech. The 5-foot-10, 225-pounder has certainly been one of the MVPs of late for Mark Richt's Bulldogs, who look to go to 8-3 when they close out the regular season "Between the Hedges" in Athens on Saturday against winless Houston.

In a game that was basically off the radar screen on Saturday, Texas Tech closed out the regular season with a 58-3 victory over Division I-AA Stephen F. Austin. The 7-4 Red Raiders were again keyed by sharpshooting junior QB Kliff Kingsbury, who completed 39 of 47 passes for 368 yards and five TDs. Talk about distributing the football -- Kingsbury completed passes to 12 different receivers.
