Hurricanes find positives despite loss

While the Miami Hurricanes may have seen their national-championship hopes come to an end in their loss to Washington, Butch Davis' squad still has plenty of positives to build on from that game.

After falling behind early, they battled back to make things extremely competitive, with sophomore QB Ken Dorsey maturing a great deal as a young QB during the 60 minutes.
Defensively, they received a solid performance up front from highly regarded senior DT Damione Lewis. Despite being double-teamed most of the day, the talented 6-foot-2, 283 pounder still managed to make his presence felt.
Lewis registered 12 stops behind the line of scrimmage, two QB pressures, one sack and also caused an interception when he hit Marques Tuiasosopo just as he was throwing the ball. While Lewis was solid versus the Huskies, MLB Dan Morgan proved once again that he is worthy of All-American recognition and a top candidate for the Dick Butkus Award.
Despite the fact that he's still adjusting to the mike-man spot after moving from OLB, Morgan has already shown a keen awareness for the position. Against Washington, he was all over the field, recording 18 tackles -- 11 of which were solos -- as well as two tackles for loss, two pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery.
Drummond to boost Nittany Lions: Penn State's offense figures to get a major shot in the arm this week when dangerous wide-out Eddie Drummond comes off the injury list. After losing big-play WR Chafie Fields to graduation, the Nittany Lions can't afford to have a weapon like Drummond on the sidelines.
