Heavy on the Gravy
ESPN The Magazine

These three MAG.com users earned a private chat with Stuart Scott. E-mail twoway@espn.com and tell us why we should give you some keyboard time.

John-Park: Stuart, who do you think Mike Dunleavy is more similar to, Keith Van Horn or Mike Miller?

Tupac Shakur
Stu prefers Tupac -- but don't tell Biggie!

Stuart Scott: John, why do we always compare white guys with white guys, black guys with black guys? That's always bothered me. People compared Van Horn to Larry Bird when he came in, when he was a lot closer to Dale Davis. I think Dunleavy is like Paul Pierce.

Laurie: Do you think the "armor" that some MLB hitters wear should be banned?

Scott: To me, it's a minor issue. I'm not gonna feel any braver standing in front of a Roger Clemens fastball if my arms are padded. Heat is heat. What if he cracks me in the skull?

Biggravy19: Power aside, who do you think is baseball's best all-around player?

Scott: Biggravy, if I can't include home runs, then right now, considering that Junior has been on the DL, I'd go with Ichiro. Ichiro or A-Rod. But only if it's power aside. Otherwise, it's Barry Bonds.

Laurie: Stu, a most important question: Who was best dressed at the NBA draft?

Scott: Other than me? Jay Williams rocked a nice suit. Dunleavy rocked a nice suit. Of course, they were outfitted by the brother who does my suits, Cary Mitchell. Best shoes, by far -- Casey Jacobsen: old-school, black-and-white Stacy Adams wing tips.

Michael Jordan
Even if MJ comes back -- will it really make a difference?

Laurie: Is MJ going to play next year? Do you think it was a mistake for him to play this year? I mean, the expectations were nowhere near realistic.

Scott: I don't know about next year. I hope he plays -- as long as he can play as well as he did this past year. How can anybody say a guy who put up those numbers made a mistake? C'mon, you gotta be kidding me.

John-Park: You're comparing Dunleavy to Paul Pierce? Are you kidding me? Paul Pierce plays with his back to the basket, and has no handle, but he's awesome. If Dunleavy turns his back to the basket he gets knocked over. Plus, I watched him play a lot and he struggles going to his left. He's a better version of Morris Peterson.

Scott: Aight -- Mo Pete! He's black, so I like the comparison. I was talking more about how the diversity in Mike's game compares with the diversity in Pierce's game.

Laurie: I have some friends who say Tiger is bad for golf because no one else ever wins.

Scott: I think your friends are stupid.
