| Fund to benefit victims' children, spouses Reuters | |||

NEW YORK -- A special fund is to be set up at next month's Breeders' Cup, thoroughbred racing's richest day, in aid of the families of the victims of the terror attacks in the United States, racing organizations announced on Friday.
The National Thoroughbred Racing Association and the New York Racing Association said the fund would be set up to receive contributions, all of which will be earmarked to assist the children and spouses of the victims.
A minimum of $1 million has been established for this program.
A portion of each paid admission from the Breeders' Cup at Belmont on Oct. 28 will go to the "NTRA Charities-New York Heroes Fund," along with a percentage of all other revenue received in connection with the event, which features eight championship races. | |
