2. Christ the King HS (Middle Village, N.Y.) -- (5-0) *4 Last week: Beat Holy Trinity High, 79-40, in the Dianne Brennan Invitational at Fordham University. Upcoming: Dec. 13 vs. Bishop Ford High. Outlook: In the last three games, CK has beaten its opponents by an average of 59 points. Clare Droesch scored 17 and grabbed seven boards in the win over Holy Trinity. 3. Mountain View HS (Orem, Utah) -- (4-0) *6 Last week: Beat Copper Hills High, 67-30, and Riverton High, 60-29. Upcoming: Dec. 14 vs. Clearfield High. Outlook: Danielle Chessman scored 23 in the win over Copper Hills, while twins Heather and Holly Hansen each had 10 points in the victory over Riverton. 4. South Sioux City HS (South Sioux City, Neb.) -- (3-0) *7 Last week: Pounded South Sioux City West High, 114-44. Upcoming: Dec. 16 vs. East High. Outlook: Katie Robinette is averaging 19.7 points and nine boards per contest as South Sioux City continues to crush opponents. 5. Fenwick HS (Oak Park, Ill.) -- (7-0) *8 Last week: Beat Joliet Catholic Academy, 81-19, and Carmel High, 75-54. Upcoming: Dec. 26 at the Dundee Crown Invitational. Outlook: Erin Lawless and Claudette Towers each scored 14 points in the win over Carmel. Northwestern-bound Sarah Kwasinski finished with 14 points against Joliet Catholic.
6. Germantown Academy (Fort Washington, Pa.) -- (5-0) *11 7. Mason HS (Mason, Ohio) -- (3-0) *12 Last week: Beat Winton Woods High, 66-38. Upcoming: Dec. 14 vs. Amelia High. Outlook: All-State player and Tennessee-bound Michelle Munoz pumped in 38 points and hauled down 12 boards in the win over Winton Woods.
8. Highlands Ranch HS (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) -- (2-1) *2 9. Ben Davis HS (Indianapolis, Ind.) -- (6-1) *1 Last week: Defeated Brebeuf Jesuit High, 59-32; lost to Franklin Central High, 69-54, in the finals of the Marion County Tournament. Upcoming: Dec. 16 vs. Terre Haute North High; Dec. 19 vs. Perry Meridian High. Outlook: Senior Ashley Allen scored 23 points and freshman Janese Banks added 13 in the upset loss to Franklin Central. Tennessee-bound forward Shyra Ely managed only 13 points on 4-for-15 shooting in the loss. 10. North Atlanta HS (Atlanta, Ga.) -- (4-0) *15 Last week: Beat Mays High, 35-28, and McNair High, 71-21. Upcoming: Dec. 15 at Marist High; Dec. 16 at Dunwoody High. Outlook: The Warriors kept on rolling with pair of victories. Khaili Sanders scored 10 points and blocked nine shots in the blowout win over McNair. 11. Narbonne HS (Harbor City, Calif.) -- (4-1) *5 Last week: Lost to Lynwood High, 46-40; beat Centennial High (Corona), 80-22, Irvine High, 70-40, Brea-Olinda High, 58-44, and Hanford High, 59-55, to win the Brea-Olinda Tournament. Upcoming: Dec. 18-21 at the Nike Tournament of Champions (Chicago, Ill.). Outlook: Freshman guard Camille Lenoir (5-foot-6) was named the MVP of the Brea-Olinda Tournament after helping the Lady Gauchos sweep the brackets. In claiming the tourney title, Narbonne beat Brea-Olinda (the No. 1 team in Orange County/Inland Empire) and nationally ranked Hanford. Narbonne's only setback came against Lynwood in a non-tournament game in which coach James Anderson was ejected. 12. Ft. Lauderdale HS (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) -- (8-0) *16 Last week: After a 42-39 win over rival South Broward High on Dec. 8, the Flying L' s clobbered South Plantation High on Dec. 11 and then Plantation High, 91-18, on Dec. 12. Upcoming: Dec. 18-22 in the annual Kreul Classic tournament. Outlook: Sandora Irvin scored 29 points and grabbed 19 rebounds in the win over Plantation -- outscoring Plantation by herself. The Kreul Classic features some of the state's toughest teams and will really test the Flying L's.
13. Nashua HS (Nashua, N.H.) -- (0-0) *10 14. Red Bank Catholic HS (Red Bank, N.J.) -- (0-0) *13 Last week: Idle. Upcoming: Dec. 15 at Long Branch High. Outlook: With all five starters returning, Red Bank looks like a lock to repeat as state champ. Center Jessica DePalo (6-foot-1) and 5-foot-7 Lynne Zoltowski form a nasty inside-outside combo. 15. St. Pius HS (Milwaukee, Wis.) -- (4-0) *18 Last week: Beat Kettle Moraine High, 49-39. Upcoming: Dec. 15 vs. Waukesha North High. Outlook: Christine Gutierrez, who has great range, led the team with 14 points and Shawna Nichols added 13 in the win over previously unbeaten Kettle Moraine. 16. Marshall HS (Chicago, Ill.) -- (6-0) *19 Last week: Beat Manley Park High, 53-27. Upcoming: Dec. 14 vs. Morgan Park High. Outlook: All-American Cappie Pondexter scored 15 points in the victory over Manley Park. 17. Cedar Falls HS (Cedar Falls, Iowa) -- (5-0) *21 Last week: Beat Iowa Central West High, 75-25, and Cedar Rapids Xavier High, 79-52. Upcoming: Dec. 15 vs. Waterloo West High. Outlook: Kim Hansen scored 26 points (11-for-12 shooting) and grabbed 12 boards against Iowa Central West and scored 27 against Cedar Rapids Xavier. Senior 6-foot forward Ellie Peterson poured in 18 points versus West.
18. Mansfield HS (Mansfield, Texas) -- (12-1) *23 19. Elizabeth Seton HS (Bladensburg, Md.) -- (6-0) *NR Last week: Defeated then-No. 14 Bullis School, 55-52; beat Archbishop Carroll High, 56-53, in Archbishop's Tournament; edged St. Hubert's High, 59-49; beat John VI High, 49-36. Upcoming: Dec. 15 vs. McNamara High. Outlook: Junior point guard Cotelia Bond-Young has been outstanding so far this season, but forward Erin Winston won the Archbishop's Tournament MVP. Seton jumps into the rankings after beating then-No. 14 Bullis. 20. Fort Smith Northside HS (Fort Smith, Ark.) -- (6-1) *24 Last week: Defeated then-No. 17 Woodward High (Okla.), 41-40, to win the Fort Smith Tournament of Champions; beat Geenland High, 55-29, and defeated Waxahachie High (Texas). Outlook: Junior Redd Coleman led the team with 14 points in the title game at the Tournament of Champions, while fellow junior Tamika Kursh added nine points. 21. Central HS (Shelbyville, Tenn.) -- (9-1) *25 Last week: Beat Jackson North Side High, 55-53, Lincoln County High, 58-37, and Columbia Academy, 73-39. Upcoming: Dec. 15 vs. Coffee County Central High. Outlook: Vanderbilt-bound forward Abi Ramsey scored 20 in the two-point, comeback win over Jackson North Side.
22. Hanford HS (Hanford, Calif.) -- (3-1) *9 23. Monsignor Pace HS (Miami, Fla.) -- (9-1) *22 Last week: Beat MAST, Archbishop Curley High and American Heritage High, but fell to Jackson High, 69-67, on Dec. 12. Upcoming: Dec. 22 vs. Shanks High. Outlook: The loss to Jackson came on a buzzer-beater with two seconds left. On the bright side for Pace, Yolanda McCormick has recorded two quadruple-doubles and one triple-double this season. 24. Woodward HS (Woodward, Okla.) -- (5-1) *17 Last week: Beat Fort Smith Southside High (Ark.), 60-51; lost to then-No. 24 Fort Smith Northside High, 41-40, in the title game of the Fort Smith Tournament of Champions. Upcoming: Dec. 15 at the Elk City Festival. Outlook: Senior Kala Bowers, who has signed with Texas, was held to 12 points in the title game loss to nationally ranked Northside and had 16 points in the first round vs. Southside. 25. Riverdale Baptist School (Upper Marlboro, Md.) -- (3-0) *NR Last week: Beat Severna Park High, 78-37. Upcoming: Dec. 14 at Potomac High (Va.). Outlook: Tiffany Stansbury (Delaware State) almost recorded a triple-double in a rout of Severna Park. Stansbury finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Stansbury and frontcourt mates Jocelyn Logan-Friend (Virginia) and Raven Mallard (Delaware State) combined for 39 points in a 60-40 rout of Arundel High, the defending Maryland 4A champ.
