1. Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) - (16-0) *1
Last week: Idle.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Timothy Vincent Prep School; Jan. 10 vs. Carolina Day School; Jan. 13 vs. No. 3 St. Vincent-St. Mary High (Ohio) in Columbus, Ohio.
Outlook: Oak Hill has cruised to a 16-0 record this season, but the biggest test thus far comes on Saturday, when Oak Hill travels to Columbus, Ohio, to take on No. 3 St. Vincent-St. Mary. Needless to say, this game has major Top 25 implications.
Melvin Scott
Southern High (Md.) guard Melvin Scott scored 25 points and dished out 10 assists in a win last week to keep his team at No. 13.

2. Willowridge HS (Sugar Land, Texas) - (21-0) *2
Last week: Routed Terry High, 113-49.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Austin High; Jan. 12 vs. Kempner High; Jan. 16 vs. Hightower High.
Outlook: Point guard T.J. Ford (Texas) posted a triple-double with 11 points, 15 rebounds and a school-record 20 assists, while Duke-bound backcourt mate Daniel Ewing pumped in 30 points in the rout of Terry.

3. St. Vincent-St. Mary HS (Akron, Ohio) - (9-0) *3
Last week: Beat Washington Massillon High, 84-51; edged Sharon Kennedy Christian High (Pa.), 51-50.
Upcoming: Jan. 13 vs. No. 1 Oak Hill Academy (Va.) in Columbus, Ohio; Jan. 19 vs. Youngstown Rayen High.
Outlook: The nation's top sophomore, Lebron James, poured in 24 points and big man Aly Samabaly added 22 for the team's 35th consecutive win vs. Massillon. James added 20 and Samabaly had 15 in the win over Sharon Kennedy, but the team was just 5-for-17 from the charity stripe. St. Vincent-St. Mary will have to do better than that if it hopes to knock off No. 1 Oak Hill Academy this Saturday.

4. Camden HS (Camden, N.J.) - (6-0) *4
Last week: Beat Woodrow Wilson High, 84-69.
Upcoming: Tuesday at Edgewood High; Jan. 14 vs. St. Augustine High.
Outlook: Memphis-bound guard Dajuan Wagner scored 38 points and center Eric Davis added 14 in the victory over Woodrow Wilson.

5. Berkshire School (Homestead, Fla.) - (14-1) *5
Last week: Beat Bonner Academy (N.C.), 103-89; defeated Brunswick Community College (N.C.), 89-72; beat Creedmoor Christian Faith Center (N.C.), 89-68, in the finals of the 2001 Preps Plus Hoops Festival; lost to Fork Union Military Academy (Va.), 73-51.
Upcoming: Jan. 13 vs. Central Park Christian (Ala.).
Outlook: Javier Palacios led the team with 25 points in the win over Creedmoor (which was undefeated coming in), while Quemont Greer chipped in 17. Berkshire isn't punished for its loss to Fork Union because it played against the post-grad team, not the varsity. Berkshire remains unbeaten against high school competition.

6. Pike HS (Indianapolis, Ind.) - (11-0) *6
Last week: Beat Perry Meridian High, 83-81; defeated Warren Central High, 84-66, in the first round of the Marion County Tournament.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Lawrence Central High in the Marion County Tournament.
Outlook: Notre Dame-bound guard Chris Thomas led the team with 26 points against Warren Central and David Teague, who hit a jumper as time expired to give Pike the win over Perry Meridian, added 23 points.

7. Ballard HS (Louisville, Ky.) - (15-0) *7
Last week: Beat Moore High, 83-50; defeated Eastern High, 93-78.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 in the Louisville Invitational Tournament.
Outlook: Center Brandon Bender scored 13 points, grabbed 11 boards and swatted seven shots against Moore before sitting out the win over Eastern for what coach Chris Renner called "personal reasons." Adam Chiles poured in 24 points against Moore, while Thomas Davis led the team with 16 points vs. Eastern.

8. Westchester HS (Los Angeles, Calif.) - (13-1) *8
Last week: Idle.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 vs. Fairfax High; Jan. 12 vs. Los Angeles High.
Outlook: Westchester will face a tough test on Wednesday against Fairfax, the second-best team in the Los Angeles Section. This could be a preview of the city section championship.

9. Male HS (Louisville, Ky.) - (15-1) *9
Last week: Defeated Waggener High, 92-49; beat Trinity High, 63-45.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 in the Louisville Invitational Tournament.
Outlook: Forward Larry O'Bannon scored 25 points and hauled down eight rebounds against Waggener, while Lavar Carter led the team with 16 points against Trinity. O'Bannon added 14 points and sophomore Michael Bush chipped in 10 vs. Trinity.

10. St. Patrick's HS (Elizabeth, N.J.) - (5-2) *10
Last week: Beat Colonia High, 63-47.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 vs. Lawrenceville Prep.
Outlook: Big man Marcus Austin returned after missing about a month with mononucleosis and scored nine points vs. Colonia. Wichita State-bound forward Jamie Sowers added 13 points and nine rebounds.

11. Dominguez HS (Compton, Calif.) - (11-2) *11
Last week: Idle.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 vs. Warren High; Jan. 12 vs. Paramount High; Jan. 13 vs. Clovis West High in the Double Pump Hoop Challenge.

12. Mater Dei HS (Santa Ana, Calif.) - (14-2) *12
Last week: Beat Villa Park High, 66-48; pounded Foothill High, 81-40.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 vs. Servite High; Jan. 12 vs. Santa Margarita High; Jan. 13 vs. Mayfair High in the Double Pump Hoop Challenge.
Outlook: Mater Dei's top big man, Jamal Sampson, didn't play against Foothill because of the flu, but he scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in his return against Villa Park. Ricky Porter led the team with 20 points vs. Villa Park, while Cedric Bozeman scored 18 in each of the victories.

13. Southern HS (Baltimore, Md.) - (9-2) *13
Last week: Beat Frederick Douglass High, 96-80; defeated Northwestern High, 66-43.
Upcoming: Jan. 16 vs. Dunbar High.
Outlook: North Carolina-bound guard Melvin Scott scored 25 points and dished out 10 assists in the win over Douglass, but Damon Spence led the team with 31 points.

14. Midwest City HS (Midwest City, Okla.) - (5-2) *14
Last week: Idle.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Norman High; Jan. 12 vs. Del City High.

15. White Station HS (Memphis, Tenn.) - (13-1) *16
Last week: Beat Raleigh-Egypt High, 63-61; beat Germantown High, 67-47.
Upcoming: Tuesday at Collierville High.
Outlook: Ernest Shelton finished with 36 points in the win over Raleigh-Egypt, and junior Fred Harris scored the game-winner on a layup as time expired for his only points of the game.

16. Vashon HS (St. Louis, Mo.) - (11-1) *17
Last week: Beat Beaumont High, 68-48.
Upcoming: Jan. 10 vs. Sumner High; Jan. 13 at Central High; Jan. 18 vs. Cleveland High.
Outlook: Junior Jimmy McKinley scored 22 points and center Lorenzo Gordon added 19 in the win over Beaumont.

17. Reynolds HS (Winston Salem, N.C.) - (12-2) *18
Last week: Beat Page High, 81-57; defeated Danville Washington High, 92-70.
Upcoming: Tuesday at Davie County High; Jan. 12 at Mount Tabor High.
Outlook: Jason McDougald led the team with 17 points against Page and chipped in 15 vs. Danville Washington. Mitchell Baldwin scored 31 combined in the two games, while Derrele Mitchell led the way with 22 points against Danville Washington.

18. Montrose Christian School (Rockville, Md.) - (9-2) *19
Last week: Beat National Christian Academy, 87-62; defeated Capital Christian High via forfeit.
Upcoming: Jan. 11 vs. The Heights High.
Outlook: Levi Watkins scored 26 points, grabbed 11 boards and blocked four shots in the win over National Christian. Guard Drew Hall added 13 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in the victory.

19. Thornwood HS (South Holland, Ill.) - (12-1) *20
Last week: Idle.
Upcoming: Jan. 12 vs. Bloom High.

20. St. Edward HS (Lakwewood, Ohio) - (7-1) *21
Last week: Beat Western Reserve Academy.

21. Germantown Academy (Fort Washington, Pa.) - (14-2) *22

Outlook: Matt Walsh led the team with 15 points and Lee Melchionni added 10 in the win over Episcopal. Walsh and Melchionni have combined for 44 3-pointers in the team's first 16 games, with Walsh accounting for 30.

22. Seattle Prep (Seattle, Wash.) - (10-0) *NR
Last week: Defeated Nathan Hale High, 72-42.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. O'Dea High.
Outlook: Center Jeffrey Day scored a game-high 23 points and Erik Bond added 15 in the blowout of Nathan Hale, which vaulted Seattle Prep into the national rankings for the first time this season.

23. Milwaukee Washington HS (Milwaukee, Wis.) - (7-0) *NR
Last week: Beat Bay View High, 70-65, in overtime; defeated Milwaukee King High, 67-54.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Milwaukee Tech; Jan. 12 vs. Juneau High.
Outlook: Kamarr Davis led the team with 28 points and 10 boards against Bay View, while J.R. Morris poured in 17 points and hauled down 16 rebounds in the win over Milwaukee King.

24. DeMatha Catholic HS (Hyattsville, Md.) - (11-3) *15
Last week: Lost to Good Council High, 59-48, in overtime; beat O'Connell High (Va.), 69-56.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Bishop Ireton High.
Outlook: Senior center Jordan Collins managed 19 points and junior forward Travis Garrison added 16 in the win over O'Connell. Coach Morgan Wooten improved to 3-0 against his son, second-year O'Connell coach Joe Wooten. The loss to Good Council was the team's third in its last four contests.

25. Champagnat Catholic HS (Hialeah, Fla.) - (16-1) *23
Last week: Lost to Miami Christian High, 62-50; beat Pace High, 46-36.
Upcoming: Tuesday vs. Palm Beach Lakes High; Jan. 13 in the MLK Tournament; Jan. 15 at Key West High.
Outlook: Martin Osimani scored 12 points in the loss to Miami Christian, while Manuel Guzman led the team with 23 points and 13 boards vs. Pace.
