Emmy goes to the Games
ESPN Outdoors Communications — April 20, 2004

NEW YORK — Last summer's coverage of the ESPN Great Outdoor Games presented by Dodge captured an Emmy in ceremonies held last night in New York.

The Great Outdoor Games' very first Emmy was for Outstanding Live Audio/Sound, and one of 10 racked up by ESPN and ABC Sports.

"ESPN Outdoors is having a great week and it is only Tuesday," said Christine Godleski, Vice President and General Manager of ESPN Outdoors.

"Over the weekend we saw record crowds attending our new exciting Bassmaster Elite 50 series, and now comes this great testament to a talented and passionate group who understand the value of working as a team toward a common goal."

Top outdoor athletes from around the world compete for entry into the ESPN Great Outdoor Games, held this year in Madison, Wis., July 8-11.

The ultimate championship of outdoor sports features one-of-a-kind, head-to-head competition in timber and target events, sporting dogs, and fishing. While entertaining large crowds on site, the ESPN Great Outdoor Games also draws a worldwide television audience airing on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports.
