Tiger wins fifth straight

SPECIAL TO ESPN.COM

August 28, 2006 | Dick's Stock Watch provides a fast-glance review of the past week in the world of sports, charting whose stock is up and whose is down.

STOCK UP

•Tiger Woods won his fifth straight tournament, coming from behind to beat Vijay Singh in Massachusetts.

•Columbus, Georgia won the Little League World Series.

•Andre Agassi had a brilliant career come to an end in a third round loss to Benjamin Becker at the U.S. Open. The earlier Agassi-Marcos Bagdahtis match was as good as it gets at the U.S. Open. What a dramatic match!

•Ryan Howard became the Phillies single-season home run leader. He has to be NL MVP!

•Chien-Ming Wang has 16 wins for the Yankees and has a shot at 20.

•Rutgers sophomore Ray Rice ran for 201 yards and three touchdowns in a win at North Carolina.

STOCK DOWN

•The NFL for charging regular-season prices for exhibition games when second and third-stringers play most of those contests.

•Carl Pavano didn't tell the Yankees about a car accident that led to injured ribs.

•Charles Rogers, who was the #2 overall pick in 2003, was cut by the Lions.

•Colorado football as new coach Dan Hawkins lost his debut at home to I-AA Montana State. It was the first time the Bobcats beat a Division I-A team since 1984.

•The Milwaukee Brewers are 1-10 in their last 11 games, though they did beat the Dodgers on Monday.

•Martina Hingis lost in the second round of the U. S. Open.
