STOCK UP
Reggie Bush stated his case for the Heisman by becoming the second player in Division I-A history to have over 500 all-purpose yards in a game as USC got past Fresno State, 50-42. Bush rushed for 294 yards and had 513 all-purpose yards.
Major League Baseball and its Players Association finally came up with a steroid policy that has tough penalties. It is about time both sides got this done.
Penn State's Joe Paterno celebrated a 10-1 season by clinching a BCS bowl bid. Does anyone think the game has passed Paterno by now? People were taking shots at him the past few years.
Annika Sorenstam won her 10th tournament of the year, capturing the ADT Championship in Florida.
Tony Stewart won the Nextel Cup points championship.
The Indianapolis Colts remained unbeaten by taking down the Cincinnati Bengals.
STOCK DOWN
Tennessee and Michigan State both fell out of bowl eligibility with losses over the weekend. The Vols lost at home to Vanderbilt as the Commodores snapped a 22-game series losing streak. The Spartans lost to Penn State, so Michigan State's season is over.
It was a rough weekend for fans in East Lansing as Tom Izzo's team lost at Hawaii by 22.
Stanford's men's hoop team lost at home to UC-Irvine.
The University of Miami was stunned by Georgia Tech at the Orange Bowl. How about a salute to coach Chan Gailey on the upset!
The Atlanta Hawks are still winless, currently sitting at 0-9.
