STOCK UP: Saints, LSU Post Emotional Wins
New Orleans Saints -- The Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers 23-20 on the road on a last-second field goal. What an inspirational victory! New Orleans has gone through so much, and this team played its heart out.
LSU -- LSU rallied to beat Arizona State 35-31 in Tempe. It was a great weekend for several road teams in college football
Notre Dame -- Coach Charlie Weis and the Irish scored a big win at the Big House, beating Michigan 17-10.
Texas -- The Longhorns scored a big 25-22 win at Ohio State.
Roger Federer -- Federer continues to dominate men's tennis, beating Andre Agassi in four sets to win the U.S. Open men's title. Kim Clijsters finally won her first Grand Slam title, beating Mary Pierce in the women's final.
Pittsburgh Steelers -- Without Jerome Bettis and Duce Staley, the Steelers still dominated against the Tennessee Titans.
Nick Saban -- Saban won his Miami Dolphins head-coaching debut (as did Mike Nolan of the San Francisco 49ers).
Andruw Jones -- Jones broke the Atlanta Braves' single-season home run record with two more Sunday, raising his total to 49. When you think about it, all-time HR king Henry Aaron played almost his whole career with the Braves
so that's an impressive accomplishment, baby!
STOCK DOWN: Rams, Broncos Lose Openers
St. Louis Rams -- The Rams lost to the 49ers, a team that won just two games last year.
Denver Broncos -- The Broncos were humiliated at Miami, 34-10.
Iowa -- The Hawkeyes were blown out 23-3 at Iowa State Saturday.
Lindsay Davenport -- Davenport was upset in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open, losing to Elena Dementieva.
